Blogging from A to Z Challenge - A

Today kicks off the Blogging from A to Z Challenge. I participated last year and had a blast. I hope you enjoy blogging through the alphabet with me during the month of April.

From additives in our food to harsh chemicals in beauty and cleaning products, consumers are getting tired of what they don't want to ingest, put on their bodies or clean their houses with. As a mom, I have to admit stories about pink slime and possible side effects to food additives like aspartame have made me a more careful shopper. While walking down the produce aisle, the sometimes too perfect color of fruits and vegetables has moved me toward a decision to plant a garden for the first time in years. I've switched from regular bar soap to goat's milk soap. Last week, I picked up botanical disinfecting wipes. I'm even looking at better products for our cats.

It's time for my family to have more all natural products. They're worth it.

All natural products are good for all, humans and pets too. Great initiative.

I agree that these products are way more healthy than mass produced foods. I wish they were more readily available and a little less expensive so make them easier to obtain

I am all for all natural products. We got our own chickens two years ago to hel assist in this and we grow a big garden each year. I too am into all natural soaps and most noticably as a change shampoo. Now if I have to use any of the rgular store bought brands the smell of it actually makes me gag. Great starting topic.

This is what we do; we grow about 90% of what we eat and barter for about 5% more. I buy flour, rice and other grains and oils and the like but that is about it. I can and freeze the vegetables from the garden and we have friends with a huge orchard where we get our fruits. We have goats and chickens for milk, eggs and meat and the barter gives us fish, pork and rabbit.

Thanks for the plug...Pricilla maaaas thank you!

Yay, yep, we use baking soda, soda crystals, vinegar etc to clean with , drops of tea tree oil in water to spray as a disinfectant, and eat organic. I polish with beeswax. And shop Fairtrade. I can't walk down the soap/cleaning aisle at the supermarket any more and perfumes make me gag too. We've been made to get used to all this rubbish.

It makes me feel ill to see adverts for disinfectant sprays sprayed near children, and air freshener which has been proven to cause children tummy upsets and earache, and cause depression in mums - now automatically sprayed into houses. Noooooooo...

Thanks to all who stopped by. I had a horribly crazy weekend, but I am trying to catch up on comments.
